Life Hack – Cutting onions

We’re back with another Peasy Life Hack to make your life at home just a little bit easier.

Are you sick of the tears every time you have to cut up some onions? Here’s a couple of tips that should help you avoid the sore eyes while preparing your next spag bol.

1. Chew bread or gum slowly while cutting the onions as many report that this helps, though scientifically no one is sure why.

2. Whistle along to your favourite tune. This creates airflow away from your face and keeps the dreaded onion mist away from your eyes.

3. Place onions in the freezer for 10-20 minutes prior to chopping, this is shown to reduce the release of the tear creating acid enzyme.

4. When all else fails, there are always snorkeling goggles!
