Is my personal data safe when I apply for a mortgage? - Peasy

Is my personal data safe when I apply for a mortgage?

As you lay bare all your personal and financial information to your mortgage broker it is normal and legitimate to have that tingling feeling of vulnerability and fear.

Have no fear, security is our number one priority and we are constantly upgrading and improving our processes to protect our client’s sensitive information.  This starts from the onset when you are sending all your highly confidential documentation the lender requests – payslips, drivers’ licenses, bank account statements, to name a few.

FileInvite
We use a secure online portal called FileInvite which requires individual logins and passwords to upload documents directly to us and this platform uses the same level of encryption technology as the banks. Any information sent or uploaded uses a secure, SSL/HTTPS connection, and all files are encrypted both in transit and at rest. The whole system is audited by independent security professionals regularly.

BankStatements.com
Within FileInvite you can access any of your bank statements via another secure link – BankStatements, a fast, frictionless web-based solution for the retrieval of bank statements. The data is encrypted with bank-level encryption and statements are only provided to the lender or us.

Dashlane
We work with over 48 lenders at Peasy, so as you can imagine there are plenty of passwords to remember! That’s why we use Dashlane, a password manager, digital wallet, which has Patented Security Architecture and Built In 2 Factor Authentication. Our passwords are updated regularly and are safely secured. The passwords themselves are extremely complex and impossible to guess.

We take security very seriously here at Peasy and no information is compromised. Every internal password from IT to lender portals and in between is protected via Dashlane. All staff work on a Remote Desktop System requiring a personal password login to protect all data from cyber-related crimes.

You can rest assured that any information or documents we request from you during any part of the home loan process is treated as highly confidential and is secure and safe.

If at any time you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us on 02 8904 1176.
